Qualifications for Hi-Point Program & Winners

All awards are presented at the Annual Meeting held each fall


Certificates of Achievement
Certificates of Achievement will be awarded to ALL First Year Youth Exhibitors and First Year Adult Exhibitors. Top Ten Certificates of Achievement will be awarded to 50% of all exhibitors to a maximum of 10th place with ties receiving equal placing certificates for the following areas:

Points are earned by the size of the class:
Supreme Halter Horse will always get at least 1 point more than any other horse, up to a maximum of 9 points. (includes class, champion & supreme points)
Champion will always get at least 2 points more than any other horse in its sex division, up to a maximum of 8 points. (includes class, & champion points)
Reserve Champion will always get 1 point less than the horse chosen Champion in its sex division, up to a maximum of 7 points.



HI-POINT YOUTH EXHIBITOR
Sponsor: Western Canadian Miniature Horse Club


All Youth exhibitors, whose parents, grandparents, siblings, legal guardian, step parents, step siblings or step grandparents are a current WCMHC member are eligible. In no case shall any contestant be more than 17 years of age on January 1 of that show year. A Child's age shall be determined by the age on January 1 and will show at that age for that calendar year. No youth 12 years of age & under may show stallions with the exception of weanling and yearling colts. Points will be compiled on a one horse/one youth basis. A contestant may exhibit more than one horse; however, the points earned by the youth with each horse will be compiled separately. For complete requirements, refer to YD-000 Youth Division in the AMHA 1999 Rule Book.
Eligible classes are all youth halter & performance classes.
A perpetual trophy along with a keeper trophy is also provided at each show location. If more than one show at a location, the award will be given to the youth with the highest combined total for the shows at that location.

HI-POINT FIRST YEAR ADULT EXHIBITOR

Canadian residents of AMHA Amateur status who are current year members of WCMHC in their FIRST year of showing Miniature horses at AMHA sanctioned shows are eligible. A contestant who has shown previously at an AMHA show is NOT eligible. Points will be compiled on a one exhibitor/one horse basis. A contestant may exhibit more than one horse; however, the points earned by the contestant with each horse will be compiled separately.
Eligible classes are all amateur & novice halter & performance classes including amateur showmanship.

Open to all senior mares, stallions & geldings owned by W.C.M.H.C. members who are NOMINATED. Nominations fees are as follows:
postmarked before March 31, 2007 = $100.00/horse.
postmarked between April 1 & May 30, 2007 = $125.00/horse.
Classes the same as for Hi-Point Senior Gelding (#16 above). Prize money of $100.00/ show will be divided among the nominated horses shown at that show using the following formula:
  • 1 entry.....1st = $100.00
  • 2 entries...1st = $ 60.00...2nd = $40.00
  • 3 entries...1st = $ 45.00...2nd = $35.00...3rd = $20.00
  • 4 entries...1st = $ 40.00...2nd = $30.00...3rd = $20.00...4th = $10.00
  • 5 entries...1st = $ 30.00...2nd = $25.00...3rd = $20.00...4th = $15.00...5th = $10.00
  • etc.......
If a nominated horse is sold, the new recorded owner may continue in the program as long as current year WCMHC membership is paid prior to their first show exhibiting the horse. Pay out of prize money at the Annual Meeting in the fall will be to the recorded owner at each show. NO substitutions. (**to download nomination form**).
